Privacy policy
What we collect, why, and how to get it removed.
Effective
This policy explains what we collect when you visit this site, why we collect it, and what you can do about it. We have tried to write it in language a person can actually read.
Who we are
The ED Watch operates this website. For any privacy question or request, contact us at privacy@theedwatch.com.
What we collect
| Category | What it is | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Analytics data | Pages viewed, approximate region, referring site, device type | To see which content is useful and where the site is broken |
| Technical logs | IP address, user agent, timestamps — held by our hosting provider | Security, abuse prevention, and diagnosing errors |
| Contact form data | Your name, email, chosen topic, and message | So we can reply to you |
| Affiliate referral data | That a visit to a partner came from this site | So commissions can be attributed |
What we do not collect
- We do not require accounts, and we do not store passwords.
- We do not collect health or medical information about you.
- We do not use cross-site tracking pixels for behavioural advertising.
- We do not sell or rent personal information.
Cookies and similar technologies
We aim to keep this site functional without tracking cookies. Where cookies are used, they fall into two groups: strictly necessary cookies that make the site work, and affiliate attribution cookies set when you click a partner link so that partner can credit the referral.
Most browsers let you block or delete cookies in their settings. Blocking them will not stop you reading anything on this site.
Third parties
When you click through to a telehealth provider or pharmacy, you leave this site and their privacy policy governs what happens next — including anything you tell them about your health. We have no control over and no access to that information. Read their policy before you submit a medical questionnaire.
How long we keep things
- Contact form messages — kept while we deal with your enquiry and for a reasonable period afterwards, then deleted.
- Analytics data — retained in aggregate; we do not build individual profiles.
- Server logs — retained on a short rolling window by our hosting provider.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access the personal data we hold about you, correct it, delete it, object to or restrict its processing, receive a portable copy, and opt out of sale or sharing. Residents of the EU/UK (GDPR) and of California and similar US states (CCPA/CPRA and equivalents) have these rights explicitly.
To exercise any of them, email privacy@theedwatch.com. We will not discriminate against you for making a request. If you are unhappy with our response, you may complain to your local data protection authority.
Children
This site is intended for adults. It is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we will delete it.
Security
We use industry-standard measures including encryption in transit. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Changes to this policy
If we make material changes we will update the effective date at the top of this page, and where the change is significant we will note it prominently on the site.
