The short version
Amazon Pharmacy is a fully licensed, accredited mail-order pharmacy that stocks generic sildenafil and tadalafil in the usual strengths. It accepts most insurance, shows the cash price when insurance is worse, and gives Prime members discounted pricing and free delivery. It does not prescribe — that is a separate Amazon service.
Our verdict: A solid, unglamorous pharmacy option. It is not automatically the cheapest — compare it against a discount coupon locally and against transparent-pricing mail pharmacies — but it is convenient, properly licensed, and free of the compounded-product upselling that dominates this category.
What works
- A properly licensed, accredited mail-order pharmacy
- Stocks the usual sildenafil and tadalafil strengths
- Shows insurance copay and cash price together so you can pick the cheaper
- Free delivery for Prime members
- Sells no compounded ED blends
What to watch
- Cannot prescribe — you need a prescription first
- Best pricing is tied to a Prime membership you pay for separately
- Mail order, so no use if you need medication today
- Not reliably cheaper than a local discount coupon — compare both

A pharmacy, not a clinic
Amazon Pharmacy fills prescriptions. It does not issue them. Amazon does offer telehealth through One Medical, but that is a separate service with its own pricing — do not assume one flows into the other.
What it does well is remove friction from the fill step. The account already exists, the card is on file, delivery is included with Prime, and the interface shows you both the insurance copay and the cash price so you can take whichever is lower.
Do not assume it is cheapest
Convenience and lowest price are different things. Before defaulting to it, check the same drug and dose against a discount coupon at pharmacies near you, and against a transparent-pricing mail pharmacy such as Cost Plus Drugs.
For a drug as cheap as generic sildenafil, the differences are small in absolute terms but large as multiples. See what ED medication should actually cost.
What to check
- Whether your dose and strength are stocked
- The cash price against your copay — the interface shows both
- Delivery time, if you need it soon
- Whether Prime is worth it for you on the strength of pharmacy savings alone
Common questions
Can Amazon prescribe ED medication?
Amazon Pharmacy cannot — it is a dispensing pharmacy. Amazon offers telehealth separately through One Medical, which is a different service with its own fees. You can also bring a prescription from any other clinician.
Do I need Prime?
No, but the better pricing and free delivery are tied to it. If you are not already a member, factor the membership cost in before treating the discount as a saving.
Is it cheaper than my local pharmacy?
Sometimes. Check the same drug and dose with a discount coupon locally and at a transparent-pricing mail pharmacy before assuming. For generics the gaps can be large as multiples even when small in dollars.
