What a Sesame ED visit includes

The Sesame ED page, checked October 8, 2026, describes a video appointment to discuss symptoms, medical history, and treatment options. It advertises appointment prices as low as $34. If the clinician prescribes, the prescription can be sent to a preferred pharmacy for pickup or delivery. The visit and dispensing are separate services.

The public page describes a care pathway, while the selected appointment establishes the specific provider, price, time, and terms.

A $34 visit is a starting offer, not the entire treatment bill

Appointment prices can vary by clinician and availability. A starting price should not be presented as the amount every patient pays or as an all-inclusive monthly ED plan. Before booking, check whether the appointment is intended for a new concern or a refill, its listed duration and format, and what follow-up is included.

For example, a hypothetical $34 appointment plus a $20 pharmacy order totals $54 before any other charges. The pharmacy figure is illustrative, not a Sesame drug quote. Compare the same strength, quantity, and treatment period when evaluating another service. A video visit and an asynchronous prescription request may also include different follow-up, so price alone does not describe the whole service.

Pay-per-visit access and membership are different choices

Sesame separately advertises Sesame Plus membership. Its membership information says it cannot be combined with insurance or Medicare. Do not infer that every patient must buy a membership, or that no recurring arrangement can ever exist because the ED page lists individual appointments. Read the selected checkout summary and keep a copy of any renewal terms.

Medication insurance is a separate question for the pharmacy. Ask for the actual copay and cash alternatives on the prescribed product rather than assuming a cash-pay visit rules out every pharmacy payment option. If you use a discount program, check its conditions instead of assuming it combines with insurance or a membership.

Prescriptions and pharmacy choice

The ED page mentions Viagra and Cialis as examples; it does not guarantee that every clinician prescribes every ED medicine. The decision depends on evaluation, health history, and appropriate prescribing. Ask the clinician to identify the drug, formulation, strength, quantity, and instructions, then have the pharmacy confirm that it can supply the prescription.

If the quoted medicine or formulation changes, ask the pharmacist and prescriber to reconcile it. A lower price for a different product is not automatically an equivalent offer.

How Sesame prescription refill visits differ from a pharmacy refill

Sesame's prescription-refill service describes clinical review and prescribing when appropriate. A visit to renew an expired prescription is different from asking a pharmacy to dispense an already authorized refill. Establish which step is needed before buying another appointment. The provider may still require updated information or recommend a different care setting.

Ask how many refills are authorized, what would trigger another assessment, and who handles a side effect or inadequate response. Do not use multiple services to accumulate overlapping ED prescriptions. If a transfer or refill stalls, ask which party needs to act rather than assuming the platform, clinician, and pharmacy share a single order system.

Safety and whether a video appointment fits the problem

NIDDK's diagnostic guidance describes medical history, physical assessment, and testing as appropriate. A video visit can start that conversation but does not replace every examination. Mention a new physical change, other symptoms, or a complex health history before treating the visit as a simple refill transaction.

Disclose nitrates, recreational nitrites, other ED medicines, and supplements. An erection lasting more than four hours needs emergency care; sudden vision or hearing loss needs urgent assessment. A marketplace review may describe one clinician, an appointment problem, or platform billing rather than every visit offered. Look for the date, service used, and the specific issue.
