The short version
Sesame is a marketplace of clinicians offering upfront-priced appointments, starting around $34 for a video visit. You speak to a person, they can prescribe any of the four approved PDE5 inhibitors, and the prescription goes to whichever pharmacy you choose. There is no plan, no auto-refill, and nothing compounded.
Our verdict: Structurally the best model in this category. Everything else here reviews a questionnaire; Sesame puts you in front of a clinician for about the price of two months of a subscription, then gets out of the way. Pair it with a transparent pharmacy and it is very hard to beat on either cost or care.
What works
- A genuine video visit rather than a questionnaire reviewed in the background
- Prescribes all four approved PDE5 inhibitors, including avanafil and vardenafil
- Prescription goes to the pharmacy you pick, so you can shop for the lowest price
- No subscription, no auto-refill, nothing to cancel
- Sells no compounded products at all
- Visit prices shown upfront before you commit
What to watch
- You have to book and attend an appointment rather than filling in a form
- The visit fee is a real upfront cost where subscriptions bundle it invisibly
- Clinician availability and state coverage vary across the marketplace
- You handle the pharmacy step yourself

Why the model matters more than the branding
Nearly every service reviewed on this site works the same way underneath: you fill in a questionnaire, a clinician reviews it asynchronously, and a subscription starts. That model is fast and it is cheap to run, and it is very good at issuing prescriptions.
Sesame does something different. You browse clinicians with prices attached, book one, and have an actual video consultation. The prescription then goes wherever you want it filled.
Why a live visit is worth the extra friction
A questionnaire is good at catching the obvious hard stops — nitrate use, a recent heart attack. It is poor at everything else, because it only asks what it was designed to ask.
Erectile dysfunction is frequently the first sign of a vascular problem, and it is also caused by medications, hormones, and psychological factors that a form will not surface. A conversation can. See why new ED warrants a cardiovascular check and telehealth or your own doctor.
What to check
- 1The visit price before booking — it is shown, so use it to compare clinicians.
- 2That your chosen clinician is licensed in your state.
- 3Ask for the generic by name, and get the prescription sent where it is cheapest.
- 4Whether follow-ups or dose changes cost another visit.
Then price the medication itself — see what ED medication should actually cost.
Common questions
Is Sesame cheaper than a subscription service?
Usually, if you fill the prescription at a discount pharmacy. Do the arithmetic across a year: one or two visit fees plus generic medication, against twelve months of subscription charges. The visit is a visible upfront cost, which makes it feel more expensive while frequently being less.
Do I really speak to a doctor?
Yes — Sesame's model is a scheduled video visit with a clinician you select, not a questionnaire reviewed in the background. That is the main thing distinguishing it from most of this category.
Can the prescription go to my own pharmacy?
Yes. That is central to the model and it is what lets you shop for the lowest medication price rather than accepting a bundled one.
